Thank you for visiting our website. We are comprised of a group of friends who are passionate and dedicated to making a difference in Haiti. In the late 1960s our parents immigrated to the U.S. from Haiti. From the early 1970s, we found ourselves in the same upper westside neighborhood in Manhattan, New York. Some of us lived on the same block and others within a few blocks away.  We grew up together as a group of about 20 kids, from grade school to High School. After High School most of us moved to other parts of New York, but we always kept in touch with each other. Fast forward 30 years, we reconnected and started getting together yearly in Orlando, Florida. During the pandemic, we began a series of meetings via Zoom.  In the meetings, we realized how fortunate and thankful we are to  be educated and live in the United States. At that point we all decided to start sponsoring less fortunate kids in Haiti to give back.

Many schools in Haiti are paid institutions and poor families cannot afford to send their kids to school. We started to give back by paying school tuition for a small number of kids in Haiti using our funds. However, in recent months, we have been inundated with requests from poor families in Haiti. To have a greater impact and to touch the lives of more kids in Haiti, we decided to let others like yourself know what we are doing. To get help from the public, we created this non-profit organization, “OLD FRIENDS OF HAITI, INC.” (OFOH) that is incorporated in the United States in the state of Florida, with a valid 501(C)(3) tax exemption from the IRS. Though we are a newly founded charity organization, we have already assisted victims of the last earthquake, provided school fees, and distributed COVID supplies to the poorest areas of Haiti.
